The subsidiary aims to boost regional cinema and diverse storytelling
Panorama Studios has produced niche and high-concept films with newcomers and also entertaining, star-studded and big-budget films that have been blockbusters such as Omkara, Special 26, Drishyam and Raid. Some of the directors and actors that have risen from the studios include – Luv Ranjan (Pyaar Ka Punchnama), Kartik Aryan, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Ajay Bahl (Section 375), Ashwini Dhir (Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge), Vignesh Shetty (Bar Code series), Pulkit Samrat (Bittu Boss), Karan Singh Grover (Alone) and Nakuul Mehta (Hale-E–Dil). With its successful decade-long run in the entertainment business of making content-driven movies, the banner announces its new subsidiary, Panorama Spotlight.
Through the new wing, the production house will continue its spree of backing content-driven movies, regional cinema, independent cinema and aspiring filmmakers. Panorama Studios will be one of the first mainstream banners to support young talent in filmmaking. It will produce, acquire and identify films (in all languages pan-India) for production, festivals, sales and syndication in the world market. It will be identifying upcoming talent, representing and handling films at film festivals and markets, which the company either produces or acquires under its new division; not to mention offering liaisoning, sales, syndication and distribution assistance to filmmakers. What’s exciting about Panorama Spotlight is that platform and language will be no bar and it endeavours to garner viewers from across the globe for Indian cinema.
