Blab With Sandy: Rajveer Ankur Singh

Blab With Sandy: Rajveer Ankur Singh

Hey Folks! This week on #BlabWithSandy, I have actor Rajveer Ankur Singh with me. Rajveer made his debut with the film ‘G Kutta Se’, and followed it up with Indrajith (Tamil), and made his debut in Tollywood with Ravi Teja’s ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’. Let’s get to the blab I had with him:

Sandy: Hello Rajveer ji. How are you?

Rajveer: Hey Brother! I am doing great, thank you.

Sandy: Please throw some light on your background.

Rajveer: It may seem cliché, haha! I belong to a small family wherein my dad was a farmer. I am proud to say that I, myself am a farmer too! I studied in a Hindi medium school.

Dad was a government servant and an honest one! I and my brother used to walk with pride that my dad was a very honest professional. We were happy with the little that we had, and we never cared about money, cars, and houses.

Sandy: Beautiful to know! When and how did acting beckon you?

Rajveer: I wasn’t that great in studies. I never wanted to be a “9 to 5” guy. I was into sports and played all kinds of sports. I represented Delhi in Under-14 and Under-16 in Cricket. I played alongside Shikhar Dhawan and Naman Ojha.

When I was 19, we had our middle-class struggles. My family supported my decision to try out modelling. I applied for Grasim Mr. India in Kolkata. I wasn’t good at English, but I did manage and became a semi-finalist. I came to Mumbai and started my modelling career and it continued for a long time. After which, films became an addition to my list.

Sandy: You debuted with ‘G Kutta Se’ and followed it up with a Tamil film ‘Indrajith’. You entered Tollywood with Amar Akbar Anthony which featured Ravi Teja. How has the journey been so far for you?

Rajveer: Whilst my modelling career, I had met a director during a normal walk. He’d called me for an audition.

The production house was new, and I didn’t even know the people. I liked the script and agreed to be a part of ‘G Kutta Se’ and the film is rated high on the critics platform.

Then, V Creations approached me for a negative role in ‘Indrajith’. Thanu sir was wonderful and so was my experience working for the film.

And, working for Amar Akbar Anthony was gun. I got a call from Mythri Movie Makers to play the negative role. It was a great experience working with Ravi Teja and Sreenu Vaitla.

Sandy: Apart from acting, what are the other things that you are into?

Rajveer: I own a franchisee fitness center in Noida called ‘Anytime Fitness’. I am trained national level squash player. I am trained in martial arts and practice it every day.

I am into fitness and exercise regularly. I am a farmer too, as I own 100 acres of land. Half of the time, I am busy indulging in organic farming.

Quick Shot Round:

  • Love: It’s a liability sometimes 🙂
  • Acting: Life
  • Imagine being stuck in a lift, and you can have two other industry people tagged along with you. Who would those two be? Milind Soman and Kajol
  • Favorite food: Dal Chawal
  • Tollywood: A professional place
  • Favorite body part workout: Core
  • Dream role: So many! I’d love to do a Bourne series

Sandy: What’s in the pipeline for you in the coming months?

Rajveer: I will be seen in Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru, for which I filmed some action scenes in Hyderabad. It has been an amazing work experience with Anil Ravipudi. He has a great vision and is very down to earth.

I am also a part of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Ruler movie, which is being directed by KS Ravikumar. I also wrapped up a Zee5 Original movie named ‘Ek Dua’. It has a strong subject and Esha Deol plays my wife in the film.

Sandy: A few words about Hyderabad Local.

Rajveer: It was great talking to you Sandy! Shall be looking forward to seeing all your interesting line-up of works. 🙂

Editor’s note: It felt like I was talking to my brother whilst chatting with him. Wishing Rajveer Ankur Singh a splendid film and fitness journey ahead!
